New Book Published: "The Acts of the IV All-Diaspora Council"

[May 25, 2012] The Publishing House of the Moscow Patriarchate has just released a new book (in Russian): "The Acts of the IV All-Diaspora Council of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia – San Francisco, May 7-14, 2006." It is at this Council that the historic decision to proceed with the restoration of unity in the Local Russian Orthodox Church was made.

The book includes publications by members of the Pre-Counciliar Committee, including an article by its Chairman, then Archbishop Hilarion of Sydney, Australia and New Zealand, greetings to the Council from various Local Orthodox Churches, including one from His Holiness Alexy II, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia; Metropolitan Laurus’ address at the opening of the Council; complete minutes of all meetings and deliberations, including all official presentations, resolutions and a delegate list. The new book also contains a large number of color photographs.

The “Acts of the IV All-Diaspora Council” are published with the blessing of His Holiness Kyrill, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia and His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion, the President of the Synod of Bishops of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia and mark the fifth anniversary of the signing of the Act of Canonical Communion (May 17, 2007). The book was jointly edited by a clergyman of the Western American Diocese (ROCOR), Archpriest Peter Perekrestov, and Evgeny Polischuk, Senior Editor of the Publishing House of the MP.
