Dear friends,
Welcome to our second annual Lenten Retreat. Allow
us to extend a special thank you to all who attended
last year's memorable event. It was a success that we
hardly expected. This year we hope to improve on the
good things in which we all partook. The day will
begin with an English liturgy at 7:30, to be followed
by our two lecturers. Our featured speaker is Archimandrite
Daniel (Byontoro) from the Indonesian Orthodox Church,
an inspirational man who comes from the front lines of
the missionary work of the Orthodox Church. Our
second speaker, Fr. Peter Perekrestov, will give a
lecture commemorating the 100 year repose of Russia's
beloved Saint John of Kronstadt.
The afternoon will
be concluded with a concert of sacred music sung by
the St. John of San Francisco Men's Chorale. Everyone
is also more than welcome to stay for Vespers after
the service. We hope you will be able to participate
and be inspired by the event and its transcendent
setting of the Cathedral of the Holy Virgin, the Joy
of all Who Sorrow.
