On the 24th of May, 2014, at a meeting of the Russian American Women’s League the second Presentation of Spiritual Spring, the official journal of the Western American Diocese took place. The Editor-in-Chief His Eminence Archbishop Kyrill of San Francisco and Western America, and members of the Editorial Board were met by representatives of the League.

The Executive Editor of the magazine, Zoya Gradova, introduced the staff of the Editorial Board and told how the publication had been created, about its necessity and uniqueness (all articles are printed bilingually and dedicated to themes that affect predominately the Russian Diaspora), and about the summer issue that is currently in preparation.

The Literary Editor Natalia Ermakova acquainted the participants with the topics of this issue, which is dedicated to the 20th Anniversary of the Canonization of Saint John Archbishop of Shanghai and San Francisco. She spoke in detail about work in the diocesan archive and of materials that have never been published previously: in particular, Vladyka John’s correspondence with his parents and family members, which is being prepared for the upcoming issue. The poem "Notebook," which is dedicated to the memory of St. John, from the pen of the Russian poetess Olga Skopchenko was recited.

In addition to those mentioned above, the members of the League were introduced to more of the journal’s staff: designer Evelina Phemister, specialist in Internet marketing Julia Godzikovskaya and distribution manager Oxana Sapronova, who answered questions about the further development and dissemination of the magazine. Archpriest Peter Perekrestov was also present at the gathering and shared with the guests the agenda for the 20th Anniversary of the Canonization of Saint John.

To subscribe to the journal or to obtain a copy, call the editorial staff directly at (925) 565-4948, write them via email, or look for the journal at your church’s candle counter.
