Dear in the Lord Matushka Marina Alexandrovna!

Accept our deep condolences for the sudden repose of your spouse, Father Alexei. As the Holy Fathers say, with the repose of those close to us, we together with them, bury a part of our soul. For the widow and children, it is a tremendous loss. In such sorrowful moments, we are always looking for consolation in the words of the Holy Scriptures: “I am the Resurrection and the Life; He who believes in Me, if he dies, will live” (John 11:25). And in another place: “Now that the dead are raised, even Moses shewed at the bush, when he calleth the Lord the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. For He is not a God of the dead, but of the living: for all live unto him” (Luke 36-38).

We hold the priestly service of Father Alexei in our Western American Diocese in very high regard. Father offered himself selflessly to the service of the Church and the help of others. For us, he is an irreplaceable loss.

May the Lord, Who loves children, console your children: Michael, Mark, and Emilia, who have lost their father, a good pastor, an instructor, and a helper in the difficulties of this earthly life. Let these words from the Sacred Scriptures serve to strengthen your children: “The Lord hear thee in the day of affliction; the name of the God of Jacob defend thee (Ps. 19: 2). Your spouse’s name is registered in the churches of our diocese for the “40 Day Prayer,” and also at monasteries in the Holy Land. Memory Eternal to your spouse, Father Alexei, and may the Lord grant rest to his soul in the Tabernacles of the Righteous: “where there is neither sickness, nor sorrow, nor sighing, but life everlasting.”

Peace be unto you and God’s blessing.
